Svartisen is Norway’s second-largest glacier, set in a landscape so striking it stays with you long after the journey. This is our most comprehensive sightseeing tour and a true showcase of Northern Norway’s natural wonders.
Departing from Bodø, the flight begins with a scenic journey over the Saltenfjorden, stretching from Fleinvær and 80 km inland toward Rognan. Along the way, you’ll pass the breathtaking Saltstraumen – the world’s strongest tidal current.
The route continues through dramatic mountain terrain, including the striking Børvasstindan range with its well-known peaks Åselitindan and Falkflågtindan; both are popular hiking destinations near Bodø.
As we head toward Svartisen, we pass several smaller glaciers and deep valleys before reaching Glomvatnet. The journey then crosses the magnificent Svartisen itself; a vast ice field covering 370 square kilometers and stretching into 60 glacier arms.
On the return flight to Bodø, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the coastline, dotted with small inhabited islands, white sandy beaches, and diverse birdlife.
